Rajasthani Bati Recipe

Baati Chokha is a regional speciality of Rajasthan, though, the variation of it is available in different parts of India.The preparation method of all of them is almost the same. This is the recipe of Bati, you can find the recipe of Aloo Chokha to prepare them together. And yes, You can also prepare Baigan Bharta to enjoy with Bati.

Preparation Time: 10 Minutes

Cooking Time: 30 Minutes

Ingredients Quantity
Wheat flour 2 cup
Baking powder 1 teaspoon
Cooking Soda 1/4 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Carom seeds 1/2 teaspoon
Ghee 3 tablespoon
Water to knead the dough
Ghee for deep frying the Bati

Method:

1. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, cooking soda, carom seeds and mustard oil in a broad bowl and mix it well with your hands. Add water little by little and knead the flour to make the stiff dough. Cover it with a muslin cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.

2. Take an orange size ball from the dough, Pre-heat the microwave oven of the convection mode at 180C.

3. Bake it in a pre-heated oven at 180C for 15 minutes for one side, then turn it and bake it for another 15 minutes.

4. Heat the wok with ghee and deep fry the Bati on low heat till golden and crisp. Crispy Bati is ready to serve, Serve hot with dal fry and Chokha.
