Cheela Chaat Recipe With Step by Step Pictures

This is one of those recipes you can prepare when you feel like having some spicy, that fills your tummy little not completely ruin your dinner or lunch. This becomes a perfect evening snack for that reasons.

The ingredients used in this recipe are easily available and the commons ones used in almost every other recipe. So, keep them stocked.

Ingredients for filling:

Ingredients Quantity
White chickpeas / Kabuli chana (Boiled) 100 gram
Black chickpeas / kala chana (Boiled) 100 gram
Potato (Boiled, peeled and chopped ) 3 no’s
Sweet tamarind chutney 1 tablespoon
Green chilli chutney 1 tablespoon
Hung curd 50 gram
Green chilli 2 no’s
Coriander leaves 1/2 bowl
Lime juice 2 teaspoon
Chaat masala 1/2 teaspoon
Onion (Chopped) 1
Tomato (De-seeded and chopped) 1
Salt to taste

Ingredients for Cheela:

Ingredients Quantity
Bengal gram lentils/ Chana daal 150 gram
White Split lentils/ Dhuli Urad daal 150 gram
Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
Green chutney 2 tablespoon
Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Vegetable oil 2 tablespoon

Method:

1. Soak both the lentils for 3 hours before grinding. Grind together Soaked white split lentil, Bengal gram lentil, cumin seeds, turmeric and salt along with little water to make Cheela batter fine. Combine all the ingredients given under table “ Ingredients for filling”  in a broad bowl and mix it well. Your sweet and sour filling is ready for cheela.

2. Add green chutney in cheela batter and mix it well, cheela batter is ready. Heat the non-stick pan and pour some amount of cheela batter with the help of kalchi and spread it on the tawa like dosa. Cheela should not be thick nor thin.

3. you can see the image of cheela below. Sprinkle little oil on cheela and cook covered on slow heat for 7-8 minutes.

4. Put 2 tablespoon filling on cheela as shown below in the image and fold it. Sweet and sour cheela chaat is ready, serve hot with your favourite sauce and beveragesSmile.
