Chilly Tofu (Paneer)

I know I am making so many paneer recipes lately, but here is a special dish for today, Paneer Tofu. My sister invited me to her place few days ago and prepared this  for dinner. We loved it so much that I put the recipe in the list of recipes to prepare for the blog.  And finally I got the chance to make it today.

To test it out, I invited my sister to my place to taste this and she loved it too. The good thing about this recipe is that it doesn’t take much time to prepare this. And you will love having it with, Rice.

Salt to taste
All purpose seasoning 1/2 teaspoon

Method:

1. Combine all-purpose flour, corn flour, baking powder, salt, food color and red chilly paste in a bowl. Add water and mix it well to make the batter to coat the paneer cubes. Batter consistency should be like idli batter.

2. Coat the paneer cubes with the batter. Heat the wok with oil and deep fry the coated paneer cubes till golden and crisp.

3. Deep fry all the paneer cubes and drain it on tissue paper to absorbs extra oil, and keep it aside. Now we have to prepare the sauce for paneer. Take another bowl and add red chilly paste, tomato sauce, pepper powder, salt, green chilly sauce, soya sauce and vinegar. Mix it well and keep it aside.

4. Heat another wok with oil and sauté with chopped ginger and garlic. Add in chopped onion and capsicum.

5. Fry it for one minutes on medium flame, then add prepared sauce in the wok.

6. Add water and mix it well with the sauce. Now boil it on high flame for 2-3 minutes. Then dissolve 2 tablespoon corn flour in 3 tablespoon water and add in the wok with continuous stirring with spatula to avoid any lumps in the gravy.

7. Add fried paneer cubes in the wok and mix it well with the gravy. Cook it on medium flame for 2 minutes. Switch off the flame and add all purpose seasoning. Delicious chilly tofu is ready to serve, serve hot with fried rice, noodle or zeera rice.
