And yes, they are slightly different from the last recipe of gulab jamun I shared.

Ingredients Quantity
Khova/ Khoya 1 cup
All purpose flour / Maida 1 cup
Baking Soda 1/4 teaspoon
Oil for deep frying
Sugar 1 -1/2 cup
Water 1 -1/2 cup
Cardamom green 2 crushed
Rose essence 3 drops

Method:

1. Combine flour, khova and baking soda in a bowl and ( Slowly add water if desired) knead into a firm dough as shown in the image below. Cover it with muslin cloth and rest the dough for 5 minutes.

2. Divide into twelve equal portions and shape into balls. Heat the oil in a kadai and deep fry the balls on low heat until golden brown in color from all the sides.

3. While frying the balls keep rolling jamuns with the ladle inside the oil so that jamuns can cook evenly from all the sides.

4. Drain it on tissue paper. Prepare the sugar syrup by adding sugar, water and cardamom green in a kadhai and let it boil on high heat for about 5 minutes.

5. Switch off the flame and add deep fried jamuns in the syrup. Leave it for about half an hour to soak the syrup. Add rose essence in the jamuns and enjoy this delicious, soft jamuns with your love ones.
